1984 Mr. Li, Jindian founded Dandong Vehicle Part Factory with private funds of RMB 70,000 and 10 employees.
In 1988, the factory was renamed as Dandong Shuguang Axle Factory and reached annual production over 10,000 axles.
1990 SG successfully developed the model 1020 independent suspension and rear drive axle which started production in March 1992, which was recognized as pioneering product in the China automotive industry.
1993 The factory was transformed into Dandong Shuguang Vehicle Axle Co., Ltd in 1993.
In the same year, SG/MIS information system was put into use to modernize the company management system. The "Eighth-Five Year" innovation project was completed and put into service in Oct. 1993. SG became one of Big Three light duty axle manufacturers in China.
1995 SG set up Dandong Automobile Refit Factory in April 1995 which was renamed as Dandong Shuguang Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd. in June 2001.
1997 In 1997, SG manufactured 73,000 units of light-duty axles, ranking No# 1 in this segment, meanwhile holding the majority stake in Zhucheng Shuguang Axle Shoft Co., Ltd and Fengcheng Shuguang Half Shaft Co. Ltd.
1998 In March 1998，SG was ISO9001 certified. That year， SG undertook the research and development task for the front & rear suspension system for Shenyang Jinbei "M1" sedan model. This marked as the start of SG＇s entry into sedan axle business segment.
1999 In 1999, SG took major stake at Shandong Rongcheng Shuguang Automotive Gear Co., Ltd. and Henan Automotive Brake Co., Ltd. Next year, the first phase of the "Ninth-five year" innovation project was completed and put into production.
2000 SG passed Qs9000 certification audit in 2000. In that year, SG＇s 40 million "A" stocks were issued at Shanghai Stock Exchange, under "Shuguang Stock", stock code: 600303.
2002 In 2002, SG signed a cooperation agreement with American Manhattan Capital Group and signed a differential marketing and supply contract with Eaton Corporation. Also, that year, SG accomplished the following:
  • Setup SG Automotive. Inc. (USA)
  • Open Korea office.
  • Setup Anhui Ankai Futian Shuguang Axle Co., Ltd. (JV)
  • Setup Shanghai Shuguang Manhattan Investment Co., Ltd.
  • Sign Long Term Agreement with Eaton Corporation.
  • Took a major stake in Dandong Huanghai Automobile Co., Ltd.
2003 In 2003, SG reached 20,000 SUV manufacturing capacity after renovation. And SG was renamed Liaoning Shuguang Automotive Group Co., Ltd. Axle manufacturing capability has reached 350000 annually.
